I was having another go at an episode of Foyle’s War last week, one in which a woman whose home was bombed out in London shows up looking for a place to stay for a bit, bringing her shell-shocked son with her. Turns out that she has a place in a London suburb called Clapton, and when we see the child taking refuge in the bedroom, he’s reading a Beano comic.
